Searching the Collection

The Jewish Cultural Quarter manages diverse collections in the fields of Jewish art, culture, history, and religion, comprising more than 100,000 artworks, historical and religious objects, books, and archival materials. Only a small part of these collections is on display in our museums and exhibitions. Through this website, we make a large part of our growing collection accessible. Visit the pages Loans and Requests | Jewish Cultural Quarter for loans and Photo Service | Jewish Cultural Quarter for more information about image requests. Questions or comments? Send an email to: collectie@jck.nl

Offensive Words

You may come across words on this website that are now considered offensive or discriminatory. In descriptions of collection items, we try to avoid these as much as possible.
Sometimes we choose to use these words nonetheless, because they are part of the history of the object, for example as part of the original title.
Have you encountered offensive or discriminatory language? Please contact us at: kenniscentrum@jck.nl

Provenance of Objects

Many objects in our collections have a complex history in which not only looting and involuntary loss of possession, but also restitution have played a role. The Jewish Cultural Quarter aims to research and document the provenance of objects as thoroughly as possible. Do you have additional information about the provenance or history of an object in our collection, or do you notice inaccuracies? Please feel free to contact us.

Reuse of Data

The Jewish Cultural Quarter makes its collection data available for reuse. The various JCK datasets will soon be listed in the dataset registry of the Dutch Digital Heritage Network. Would you like to make use of the JCK collection data? Please get in touch.
